Homeschool Ideas

So, you're a home-schooling family, and you're looking for a series to help your children learn a second language at their own speed.  Maybe you're a 'by the books' home-schooling family, maybe you take a more laid back approach, maybe you un-school, or even de-school.  Whatever your style, consider using the My Second Language Series to inspire your children to absorb their second language.

Many home-schoolers like to have the books in their home library, where they can reach out, grab a book and discover the language in their own speed.  However, my suggestion, to help keep costs down and to help each child get the most out of their language learning, is to purchase the downloads instead of the paperback books.  The best books to order as downloads are the Level Two and Level Three books.

As a download, you have the books right on the computer where you can have them saved in a folder for each child.  Your children can click on their folder and read their books on their own; learning computer skills and a bit of independence at the same time.  They may take the learning a step further and research words while on the computer, when inspired by their reading.

Also, you can print up a copy of each book on your home printer.  Give each of your children a copy of each book in their own three-ringed binder.  Children can write on their own copies, color, even cut out the images or the vocabulary.  Every child learns in their own way, help them discover which way is best for them to learn their second language!  Best of all, you can always re-print the pages when needed since you have them saved on your own computer.

The My Second Language books are chock full of vocabulary and sample sentences.  Having them on hand, whether paperback or download, really puts learning a second language right in your grasp.  If you have a favorite way of learning with the My Second Language Series, please pass the idea along and we will share it here!
